Kindle Users: Ever download with the cord?

I have my Wifi only Kindle with me at work, where I do not have Wifi. I am almost done with my current book and need to get a new book (I read at the gym during my lunch hour). I have the charging cord with me that plugs into a computer. Is there a way to buy a book on Amazon and download it to my Kindle with the cord? I don't have the instruction manual with me. TIA!

yes - on amazon, buy the book. on 'manage your kindle' look for the 'actions' drop down list & choose 'download & transfer via usb'.
