Going to a small pool party tomorrow....at least one other family with kids, and one empty nest couple who are hosting. I don't know them...DH does. When he asked what we can bring, answer was "nibbles".

Party is at 4p. They will be serving drinks and dinner.

Help!

I would bring something that you know your kids would like and adults would like too. Fruit salad, carrots & hummus, onion dip & chips?

OK - thanks.

Was thinking veggies and dip, but wasn't sure. Think I'll do that this time - unclear that DD will eat what they're grilling. She doesn't have to do so, but is more than old enough that I'm not bringing something special for her. She'll eat veggies, and then likely some of the sides they're serving. Healthy enough for once in a while!

(My other standby is tortilla chips with salsa with cutup avocado in it, which for some reason people always really like....but would rather make sure there are veggies there this time!)

That sounds really good! I'll have to file that away for the future.

You could do both. Went to a kids party last week and nibbles was chips, salsla, and vegie platter with a dip. I was dipping the vegies in the salsa and it was yummy that way.
