I need to get back into doing it, that's for sure!! Not that I have gained but I am just holding steady. Not great when I still have the same 10lbs to lose as always. I got disheartened when the moms I started with in the spring have had such great success and I didn't. I kept to my calories and exercised but I wasn't dropping weight like the other moms. Stupid thyroid and PCOS. But, I should get back on so PM me if you want my contact.

I have got to get re-motivated. I have been slacking big time, but at least maintaining the loss so I'm happy about that. For any lurkers, I SOOOO highly recommend MFP. It is such a fabulous tool and just what I needed.

I need some pals too.

I feel yucky and bad about myself. So I snack. Which makes me chubby, so I feel bad about myself. Then I snack. I'm not in a good cycle. I need a little "win."

I'm pm'ing and friend requesting you ladies. Thanks!

I find it is support sort of like a facebook experience. Also there are people of different skills and experience so people can offer menu and exercise suggestions and you also have something to offer (BTDT). I really like it. I have been logging but a little lazy on the friend side. I am getting back into it today. I really really like it.

I am on there... same username as here.. add me!

I've been a little MIA past few weeks, but someone sent me a very nice note this morning wondering where I have been, so I will try to log in more often.

I was really active on there while doing C25k, I'm just finding it hard to keep track of my food.

Made it through my first weekend. It's a little rough.

I have a hard time not finishing DS's food. Anyone else have that problem? What do you do?

Do you have any low cal meal ideas that aren't just a ton of salad? Cause that is gonna get old soon.

Is it bad to eat low calories during the day but eat a ton of calories at dinner- like half or more of your daily allowance?

How do you eat for weight loss without putting the whole family on a diet?

I appreciate your advice and experience!

I have snacks thorughout the day to fill me up. I am doing nutrisystem though so my entrees are low in cals. I think the key is having small portions though and lots of snacks and water. I have lots of fruit, cheese, hummus, yogurt, raw veggies in addition to the three entrees. I also love having a 100 calorie popcorn bag at night when I get the munchies. ;)

I actually don't have many salads, but if you add protein to salads, they should be more filling.

I do not currently eat what my kids are easting as I have my separate meals. If I were eating the same things, I would just measure my portions carefully and stick to what is on my plate.

Good luck!

ETA: I try to do at least 500 calories worth of cardio every day so I usually have plenty of cals to consume.

I have a few go to meals -- greek yogurt with blueberries; cottage cheese with pineapple; egg whites with guacamole. I usually eat one of these when the kids eat so I don't snack from them. It is better to eat less at night and eat more in the am. This is hard for me as well.

I did the following
- drink a ton of water
- switched to tea from coffee with milk and sugar
- worked out a bunch (at least 60 mins a day)
- cut out all white carbs and all bread etc (I am slowly re introducing some whole grain carbs)
- I kept veggies and guacamole on hand and cut up the veggies in bulk so they were easy to get to

HTH
good luck-- you can do it!

I recently signed up for MFP for maintenance after my recent weight loss. I did the Ideal Protein program and lost 33 lbs in 4 months. DH lost 56 lbs in 4 months. I did a search for" Ideal Protein" on BBB but it doesn't seem to have been discussed. It's a low-carb commercial plan. Anyway, now I'm into the maintenance phase so I'm using MFP to keep me on track.

My favorite low-cal meal is Trader Joe's Red Pepper Tomato soup. 100 Calories for a cup IIRC. I add salt and pepper, a few crackers, and sometimes a dollop of low-fat sour cream. If I have time, I saute onions, peppers, and tomatoes and add it in to make it chunky. I LOVE THIS STUFF. Sadly we don't have a TJs so I drive over an hour to stock up every couple months.
I don't know if it's "bad" to eat most of your calories in the evening but that is definitely what I do. I know it's a diet "sin" but I hardly ever eat breakfast. I just don't have an appetite and save my calories for when I am hungry. So yes, often I will eat a light lunch, a little afternoon snack and a bigger dinner, and sometimes an after dinner snack since we eat dinner between 5-6.

I just joined MFP the other day because I wanted to compare it to Weight Watchers. From what I can tell so far, WW is giving me too many points :( My username is rachelrapp.

On MFP, though, I *always* go over my allotted amount of protein. Is that normal?

I didnt even know there was a social component to MFP! PM me if you want my username. I'll go add those of you who posted your username in this thread as my friends:D

Yeah, when I first joined, my first thought was, "Oh, cute, it's just like facebook!"

Thanks for adding me!

If anyone else wants to add me, just add me and let me know the message you're from BBB

I go over my alotted protein too but I don't go over my total calories. I guess it's ok. Are you doing low carb?
