So, I've been perusing the boards on You Look Fab, and one of the mom-on-the-go looks I've never tried involves leggings. I haven't owned leggings since the 80s, so that would be a real fashion risk for me.

But I noticed that the first mention of leggings was around 2007. It's now the second half of 2011. Have I missed the boat on leggings, or are they still "in?" Where's your favorite place to buy these? Favorite brands?

They're still cool when they're done right, I think. People seem to like Hue leggings a lot - you can buy them at Nordies, NR, Macy's, etc.

They're still in...or maybe back in. What's popular now is not so much the kind that must be worn under something long, like a little girl styling (though I would not say they're out) but ones that are combo of skinny jeans/leggings. Like these:

They have belt loops, a zipper and button and back pockets. But the streamlined look of a legging. I bought these in the store yesterday and am in love. I am not skinny (about 15 lbs overweight) but these pants look amazing. I will even wear them without something totally covering my butt because even though they are very fitted, they are super flattering, hold it all in and make me look very trim.

I also have Hue leggings which are less pant-like, and more legging, and really like those, too.

I got these Style & Co leggings (http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?upc_ID=29802524&ID=583638&Quantity=1&EXTRA_PARAMETER=BAG&PseudoCat=ba-xx-xx-xx.index)today at Macy's. $10 cheaper than Hue and fit very nicely. :love-retry: I got the black ones and was very sad they didn't have brown ones in my size. I guess I'll have to keep checking. There is no way I'm paying $8 to ship them.
