DS's schedule isn't entirely predictable our babysitter sometimes has as much as 2+ hours of free time while she's here. I don't mind her resting a bit b/c I know it can be draining to watch a baby, but I'd also love to have a list of little projects she can work on and I think she's someone who likes to keep busy. She has a lot of initiative and picks up stuff quickly (I only need to mention things once, she has been reading all my baby books, etc.) Right now she's folding laundry (sheets/towels, nothing personal) if its in the dryer, stuffing DS's cloth diapers, hanging his clothes to dry, emptying the dishwasher, sweeping the floor. But she's here 2 or 3 days a week, and all of that doesn't keep her that busy. I'd love to have her help cook/prep for dinner, but I'm not sure how well that would work, she's interested in cooking, but doesn't seem to have a lot of skills in the chopping dept, which is what that mostly would be....
OTOH I think it's a little much to ask her to do heavy cleaning, I mean, I like her and want her to be happy and stick around ;)
I'd also love to give her tasks that can help her in the long run, i.e. things that can help build her resume, etc. Any ideas? I work from home, so I can give a little bit of instruction, but the less I'm involved the better...TIA!
