Anyone have a recommendation? I grew up playing with- and loving- the Fisher Price cash register like this:

I thought I might just get that but I was wondering if there was another one to consider. I don't mind noisy toys, btw. :) And I really want it to "do" something- buttons to push, drawer to open...I have seen some wooden ones that just have numbers painted on and I'd rather not get one of them. eta- it'll be a for a 4yo.

I bought the one you linked for DS2 when he was 2. It still gets lots of play :)

I remember playing with the old version of that one, too, when I was 4 or 5 (my cousin had it)... then DH bought one off eBay last year. :)
I actually found a more electronic one at our local grocery store last year; it had a little scanner and everything... all I can think of is Little Tykes, Fisher Price, the typical brands that you would find at TRU. Have you checked Amazon?

DS was given one of these for his birthday a few years ago. He has never really liked it but DD plays with it a lot. It beeps and doors open and it has little bar code stickers you can put on things and it reads them with prices "$9.99" or "$19.99". It also comes with play money. The reviews are mixed but we like it.

I saw a cute one in the last One Step Ahead catalog that had a conveyor belt! Never saw it in person though.

We have this one which we love. Still gets lots of play by my almost 7 year old. The 4 and nearly 2 year old love it as well.
