I need a better place to hide my childrens' Christmas presents...

then in the back of my SUV. I work out of the house and do most of my shopping on my lunch hour. I am responsible for picking up the kids from their afterschool program. So, the presents tend to stay in the back of my car (covered, of course).

We have a walk up at attic but the entrance is in DS' room...so I am limited when I can get up with Christmas presents without him or DD seeing me. We have no basement and our 90 yr old house offers limited closets/storage.

So, in the back of my car they remain.

i have a storage unit that i use frequently. i keep stuff there. its conveniently located though not really out of the way.

The best place I have found is INSIDE the suitcases that we have stored in a closet. As long as you are not going on any trips any time soon, it should work.

we have a lockable storage room in our basement. Its been good so far, except at times it is so packed with stuff (including other older toys) that I cant get into the back where I keep the new gifts.

We do have a basement and I have 3 large moving boxes from Uhaul that I put gifts into. They're under a couple other smaller boxes and just look like stuff in storage.

One of our neighbors told me when we moved in that when her kids were little she stored all the big gifts at our house with the original owner. She was nice enough to offer to let me stash stuff at her house since her kids were grown and ours were little.

Right now we have a bunch of places that DD1 hasn't discovered but I think that next year we will have to be more creative.

I am using a combination of our garage, the storage space under the house (kind of a PITA, because I have to put them in tupperware bins to protect them) and DH's trunk.

a big box in the basement that looks really boring
a suitcase in my closet
bags in my cluttered closet

Inside suitcases is one I use. I also have storage bins that are labeled "guest bedding", gifts on bottom, sheets on top, then those containers have one or two other legitimate ones on top of them ie the bin of outgrown clothes waiting for the next DS.
DSD (age 18) just asked me where I hid them because in all of her hunts as a kid once she didn't believe, she never found them.

Funny story - I also NEVER figured out where my parents hid ours as a kids and to this day my Dad won't tell me. He thinks it's hilarious.

If you decorate for Christmas, how about the boxes that (normally) hold the decorations? Especially useful if you have a big tree box.

The past couple of years, I stashed everything in our cargo trailer which was parked in the garage. We have a storage room in the basement which now has a keyed lock on it so everything is going in there.

I think my parents used to hide stuff in some stereo speaker boxes which Dad insisted he had to keep. They were stored in the garage on one of those hung from the ceiling racks.

I have 3 wicker-type baskets with lids in my room that are supposed to be laundry baskets but I have them holding a multitude of things, that is currently where a few are hiding, my laundry room cabinets and holding a few and the rest are hidden in my closet. I have no idea what i'll do when DS gets older bc those are not great hiding spots!
