:bighand: I second that! We got two sets of the Christmas Market so we'd have four stands instead of just two! :)

Also picked up the nativity set with the actual manger. We got the nativity set last year, but it only included a paper manger, so I decided to go ahead and get it again this year so we have the real one. Now we have two cows, two donkeys, two baby jesus, two angels, two marys and two josephs. But the old mary and joseph are nicer, so we decided the new mary and the new angel could just be maids along with the shepherd.

Just don't underestimate how long it takes to put the pieces together! (So much for going to bed early...)

I was wondering the same thing! I'm sure it will be an absolute mob scene...are the deals worth it?

Of course it's also only 30 minutes from the Trader Joe's in Princeton that carries wine... Combine the two and it might become more worth it...

Did anyone go today? What was it like? What did they have and how were the prices?

We went this morning. Got there almost when they opened and were there for two hours trying to decide what we really wanted to spend our money on and where to draw the line. ;)

There was a room -- not huge, but just a room with tables. They had Playmobil things from pretty much all of the various themes. Some larger sets, but mostly it was "add ons" - accessories and / or additions to existing Playmobil sets that are supplied in bags instead of boxes.

Prices were generally 40% or 60% off. They had the school for $102 instead of $170. Noah's Ark was about $85. They had a bunch of the new X-mas stuff. They had the Egyptian pyramid. Playmobil 1,2,3 sets. Framework house. Really cheap train tracks (and perhaps a train car or two, but no actual train). And of course a bunch of other stuff. They did not have a house, though, which is what we were hoping to find. And no full zoo either.

It was challenging to figure out what was what and how much things cost. Because so many things were in bags, it was hard to identify what was what. The playmobil item numbers were on the bags, of course, and many of the cardboard boxes they were put out in had a photo of the contents on it, but not all, and they were hard to see, too, somewhat. Then they had paper price lists hanging in various locations. You could look up the item number, see the name, the original price, and the sale price. (You could also look through the list and see what item sounded interesting and then ask a staff member where the item was located.)

While we were there, we saw them bring out more boxes to restock (where possible) some of the items they were selling. That was neat to see. However there were also items that were already sold out and no longer available Saturday morning.

We already have a big barn set and were hoping to get a house, so that's what we focused on. We got a swimming pool (for a "vacation at the farm?"), the ice cream parlor, the empty corner store (normally $30, got it for $12 I think), the vet's jeep, bunny rabbits, a "bad guy" from the western theme who rides a horse and has coins (horse for the farm, guy can work on the farm, and money to spend at the ice cream parlor) for about $2, school kids, the sun room for the suburban home, and various other items.

The planter things are self-watering planters, and were actually quite nice. They did not have a lot of them, but they were 60% off. Some were only available in orange and lime green, but we actually picked up some decent size houseplant (for up on a bookshelf) pots for $8 each I think. I was impressed with them. (Apparently the planters are made by the same company as Playmobil -- probably both injection molds so why not make plastic planters out of the same plastics as the playmobil toys?)

All sales are final. While checking out, there was a thin part that was coming out of a bag. We grabbed a different bag, but that made me just slightly nervous. Not overly nervous, but slightly. A lot of the items were for sale because they're being discontinued (perhaps), so there is a chance that if a piece is missing that Playmobil will not be able to replace it if they're no longer making it, and then you're out of luck. But I don't think that's very likely (I'll let you know for use in a year after we've given the kids all of these items and we're using...)

I ran in to a woman who was there Thursday morning. She said the line to check out was insane, but that was because they only had one cash register open and some items were still ringing up at full price, so they were still getting the kinks out of the system.

This was the first warehouse sale they've done in 15 years. However, if it goes as well as they're hoping, they may start doing it twice a year.

If you have any specific questions, I can see if I can answer them. Hope this helps!
