I remember DD started using the LT around 15 months or so... she had just started walking and would stand in it (next to me, with supervision, of course) to cook or decorate Easter eggs or something.
DS is 14 months and has been walking for a while, but I'm not sure he'll have the patience to stand still on the LT... is it something that you've found depends more on your kids' age or personality? Also, have you been able to have both of your kids on it at the same time?
DD (a little over 3) actually seems to have a little less patience on it now but maybe she'll be more into it in a year or two when she can help more in cooking, decorating cookies, etc.? Just wondering if I should keep it or get rid of it now... :)

We started using it when DS1 was about 15 months. DS1 and DD still use it to bake or cook breakfast on weekends. DS2 (20 months) has been wedging his way into it too ;)

I'd say from 18 months to 3 or 3.5 was probably peak usage, but we still find it very useful even for the older kids.

I'd say 18 months - 3 years old. The girls have no interest in using their LT anymore in the kitchen. They just want to stand on chairs (plus they were fighting over elbow room in the LT even though it's technically big enough for 2). I think it would have lasted longer if we didn't have twins.

Our LT is now permanently a puppet theatre.

I was going to say 2 to 4....we do still use it though at 5. Less now mostly because I am unwilling to push it around the kitchen while pregnant.

:yeahthat:

Ds1 (6yo) still uses our to help cook things a few times a week. DS2 (3) is the prime user in our house though. He is on it all the time - he even eats snacks standing on it alot.

DD1 is 4.5 yo and stands in that thing daily still. Sometimes to eat a snack but usually to help with food prep. DD2 is 24mo and just "discovered" her love of the LT about 2 mo ago.

we started using ours at 15 months. DS liked to watch what was going on. At 20 mos i think he could climb in on his own, which was good and bad at the same time (we had to make sure there was nothing breakable or dangerous he could reach):) Now at 23 months he gets in it maybe a dozen times a day..to eat, to see what is going on, etc. No sign of getting bored of it yet! :)

Yesterday we went to a friends' house for dinner (we had never been there before), and they had a Learning Tower (different color, and with the easel attached) in their kitchen. DS immediately recognized it, immediately went over to it and climbed in stood up and checked everything out. LOL!

it should be interesting in about 6-12 months or so, if/when DD starts getting interested in using the tower.
