Present dilema

We did a Santa visit today and DD asked for the AG doll Kanani, a Nintendo DS, and Hot Wheels video racer.

We have no plans to get the video racer.

I do not want to give her Kanani, as she just got her AG doll in July and I would rather have more spacing before getting a 2nd. She's getting AG accessories for Christmas, so there will be plenty of new doll things. She'll get Kanani for her birthday in June.

She is getting a Nintendo DS Lite. But, it's from us, not Santa. It's used, so I think it's better coming from us than Santa. Plus, another gift is 2 games and a case and if I make that all a Santa gift, then I'm off on numbers for the boys and have to combine things.

In talking, she's mentioned quite a few things she'd like and 2 of those are coming from Santa. But, they weren't mentioned today.

So, should I figure out how to make the DS be from Santa or just leave it as I have it?

ETA: DS1 asked Santa for Perplexus Epic and Khet. He's getting both from Santa. DS2 asked for Batman GeoTrax and he's getting that from Santa. So, they'll both have specific things they asked for and will receive. Will they even notice?

In our family, a wish list for Santa is just suggestions, and mom or Santa may (or may not!) bring what's asked for. So, basically, if the plan is DSlite from parents, and some games from Santa, I would keep it that way. If she asks why the games are from Santa, you can say Santa knew you were getting the DSlite already... He's magic like that ;)

Just FYI, Kanani is sold out on-line for good so if you don't already have her, you might want to try and track her down in a store before she is gone everywhere.

Games are from us, too. Just a way to even things out because DS1 is getting a couple games as well, so those are nice even gifts :). Santa is a wish list, suggestion list here, too. I just sort of feel bad that the boys are getting things and she is not. But, she's getting the item, so that'll be fine. I am not sure if she'll notice or not and once she gets disappointed, it's a bad, bad day :).

If it were me, I think I'd make the used DS from Santa. Maybe in the excitement of Christmas morning she won't realize that it's not in it's original box, etc.
