Has anyone ever replaced cushions on their IKEA sofa?

The kids have a stomach bug. My son barfed down the back and seat cushions of our newish IKEA Ektorp. The cover was easy enough to wash, but the cushions... <shudder>.

I haven't found anything on the website about possibly replacing the cushions. Anyone have BTDT experience?

Not sure about buying them from ikea but you should be able to find a local place to custom cut foam. Have you tried bac-out or nature's miracle on the foam yet? Bac-out is amazing at getting out vomit smell.

If they were just cushions, I could swing it. But they have down toppers. I don't know how to handle that. As for the kids' down pillows from their beds, I've already thrown them away. :(

I wash our down comforter in the washer and so far have not had any issues. I have also taken the foam seat and ottoman topper from my rocker off and washed it in my washer. No problem there either. Maybe you could take them to a laundromat with one of those huge commercial washers and see what happens? Sorry - it's bad enough to have sick kiddos, let alone add in having to replace all that stuff.

Yes, if they come apart from the foam, I'd soak the down toppers in bac-out then wash in the washing machine. Hope your kids are feeling better.
