Some people have pseudonyms for their kids. Gator, Sprog, LaLa, Baby Bear all come to mind. Are these pet names used at home IRL, or just their online personas? We have a pet name for DD, but I don't think I've ever used it online. Just curious...

I use my boys first names all the time Logan, Connor, Nathan & Jack.

Lula's online name is her favorite name for EVERYTHING. Any new doll, toy, friend, etc. she thinks should be Lula.

I also use my kids real names. I'd honestly feel weird calling them anything else.

I use their real names, Greta and Lucy. I'm not at all worried about it.

Sorry, I think my question was unclear. I don't mean, "Do you use your child's real name on the BBB?" I mean *IF* you use a pseudonym on the BBB, is that DC's pet name at home IRL?" So Lisa, Do you call your oldest DS "Gator" at home as a pet/nickname? Does Lala's Mom call her DD "Lala" at home IRL?

DS has several wacky nicknames I call him. None of them I use on the BBB or online elsewhere, but he gets called his own name, the short version of his name, and aobut six or seven nicknames regularly. Like let's say his nickname was Boo. I'd be calling him Boo, Boober, BooBoo, Little Boopiedoo, Boops. I'm like that.

DH calls DS "Punko". :)
DS told me he wants to be called "kid" now because that's what my dad calls him.
We do lots of nick names too, but to answer the OP, since I don't call my DC anything on the board (well besides DS and DD!) I don't call them that IRL.
I have always wondered about Gator and co. though too. :)

My boys have VERY unusual, distinct names so I don't want to use them online. But I do call them Punkin and Boo at home. I have called Punkin "Punkin" since I was pregnant with him. Now that he is almost 8, he has expressed his desire that I not call him that, but it's a hard habit to break. Boo has also always been "Boo" as often as his real name.

I wish I had a pseudonym for DS here, but I think I've still got time to make one up, since he's so young. Not too many drawn out stories about him to tell yet. Love Sprog's monologues, etc.
Still not answering your actual question, OP, but once I accidentally referred to DS as "DS" to my DH and got a strange look. Some nights when I'm on here too long, I'm thinking of him as "DS," as in I've got to order more dipes for DS.
I also have used his real name a couple of times here and am not worried about it. I don't think I would share my pet name for him though. Too special. As you can see below, I'm not worried about using my real (first) name either. Should I be?

For a while I had "Bean" in my signature for DS, and that actually is our nickname for him in real life. But I realized I always just say DS or DD on the BBB.
I occasionally have mentioned my kids names when its relevant. I don't think its too big of a deal. But their names are longer than two letters so its easier not to type them most of the time.

Yep, she's Lala (or just La) at home and online.
She's got a million other nick-names too, but that's the one that's been around for the longest time.

:bag On the phone with my sister last night, I totally did this. Thankfully, she's on another board where they use that commonly as well, so she just laughed at me.

My screen name here is the nickname my hubby gave the bun in the oven. A combo of my nickname and his initial :)
He does think we'll keep calling the baby that once it arrives but I have no clue. :)

I usually call DS by his nickname IRL but I've never actually used it here. I don't use his real name here either because it's unusual.
I occasionally call DD#1 Jelly Bean (but probably not even once a month) and never call DD#2 Ha. . . but that is the name her sister called her when she was too little to say her real name.

We used to call my oldest daughter Lali.
I have several strange nicknames for each of my kids, but I never use them online.
