FB is driving me nuts lately. I'm not sure if this has to do with the new timeline thing or not, but I'm having two annoying problems. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know.
First problem: A number of people on my friends list are friends through work. Due to the nature of my job, I keep a "Work Colleagues" list, and I had set my privacy settings so that these people could not see my status updates, photos, or certain aspects of my profile (my religious beliefs, specifically). I will say that I never write anything political on FB, but I still have this set this way just in case I ever slip up. These people are friends, and I don't want to say no to them if I get a friend invite. Up until now this has worked really well.
Last night, one of the people on my work colleague list commented on my status. Which means, she saw my status. I went into privacy settings, and it looks totally different from how it used to look the last time I checked it. I cannot find where I block people from seeing my status updates. I do see where I prevent them from seeing posts by others on my timeline, but not my own status updates. I also can't see where I can block people from seeing my photos. It does seem that they can't see my religious status still. I double checked, and this person is still in my work colleague list, which means that everyone in that list can probably now see my status updates. I'm really annoyed.
Second problem: I have always had my notifications set so that I receive an email when someone posts on my status or in a group in which I'm a member. Now that I have an iphone and I get the alerts on my iphone through the FB ap, I no longer want to get the email notification. It just clogs up my email inbox. I tried to go into account settings/notifications and I unclicked all the "notify me when" boxes. But I'm still getting notifications of these things in my inbox.
Any ideas?
