Get my Breastfed DD to take a bottle? She's 7 months old and has previously taken formula in the middle of the night from DH every now and then, and breast milk in a bottle from my MIL a month ago (valentines day to be exact).

Suddenly, she's refusing the bottle. I've left her with MIL twice in the past week so I could go to long appointments and she's refused formula from her. It really wasn't time for her to eat, but DD has also been doing lots of crying for mommy stuff, so I think she was just trying anything.

She also refused a breast milk bottle from MIL at bedtime last week and from DH today after not eating for 4 hours. Also, she won't take one from him in the night anymore :(

Why the strike? What can I do? This is very stressful to me!! Help :(

What about trying a sippy cup. This is what we did when my dd at 4 months gave up all bottles. Just let her play and get used to the sippy, then give it a shot with the bm.

:yeahthat: At 7 months she could go straight to a sippy cup. DD refused bottles as well but I think we tried a sippy around that time. After some trail and error I found that cups without a valve or with one with a valve that don't need a lot of sucking to get the liquid (i.e. Born Free cups) worked well.

I'd try a sippy cup or even a soft straw cup like the Nuby ones. DS2 refused to take a bottle after his first few months. He never ended up accepting breastmilk in a sippy or straw cup, but would drink water from both.
