I don't personally know any adults who meet these requirements, but perhaps you do?

I don't fit the need, but I did tweet it and put it on my Facebook! I hope they find a match ASAP!

I'm a member of the Asian American Marrow Donor Program and joined nearly 17 years ago when a UCLA student who is Asian American needed a marrow transplant and there was a big drive on campus. I have yet to be contacted, but my SIL (who's also Asian) actually donated her marrow and then appeared in videos urging other Asian Americans to register.
Sadly, too many Americans of racial minorities lack matching marrow donors because so few people in general register. I know there is a growing number of biracial Americans so I'm even more worried for them--there are very few biracial registered donors, too, per the available stats.
P&PT go out to Kyle and his family.

I need to register! isn't it just a kit and swab you send in?

I think so. There's usually a fee to process it, but some nonprofits like AAMDP will get donations to cover the cost so the prospective donor doesn't have to pay. I did mine in-person at an on-campus drive and I've since seen more drives at ethnic festivals (e.g., Japanese American Cherry Blossom Festival, Moon Festival, etc.) and on college campuses.

I just checked the website and there's one in my area coming up, But it's $100. I'll have to talk to DH about allocating the $$ for this.

I don't fit the description, but I posted it on my FB page. One of my best friends is 1/2 Asian and 1/2 white.
I registered to be a bone marrow donor back when I was in college. I've never been contacted, but I've moved several times since then so how would they know how to get ahold of me? Does anyone know if there's a way to update your contact info?

Yes I know I was able to update it with the National marrow Donor program and had long ago lost my donor #.

You can email them. I signed up but then ended up with an autoimmune disease so I just relied to an email newsletter they sent me and someone wrote back.
