I cannot for the life of me find what I am looking for to hold sand toys. I'm looking for those bit plastic bucket/bag things that have holes (or a square pattern) for the sand to fall through. I need a big one (lots of sand toys!). Does anyone know what I'm talking about and what I can find one? I've searched so many B&M stores without luck!

There was a mesh bag for sand toys in the one step ahead catalog that came recently.
several years ago I bought a big mesh bag at Tuesday Morning to hold the bath toys (we put up a hook above the tile in the shower so it could hang and the toys drip dry). It has a shoulder strap. Tuesday Morning is hit or miss though.
eta: this popped up under a search for large mesh bag, mesh might be too tight to let the sand out. http://www.rei.com/product/748132/rei-mesh-duffel-large
the OneStepAhead bag is getting decent reviews online http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=large+mesh+beach+bag&view=detail&id=7E4F0236D5C135CA5606D22ED46A9B20861D53EB&first=0

How about a pop up mesh laundry basket?

I saw one at rite aid today with the beachbags. Not sure how big it was.
How about salt water canvas?
I like Kris' pop up hamper idea though....

Hm. I kind of like the One Step Ahead one, but it isn't quite what I had in mind (and it's more expensive than I wanted to spend). I want a cheap plastic thing (I'm not sure those words have ever come out of my mouth before!).

Are you thinking about a hard plastic bag kind of like this?

They had something similar at Target dollar spot earlier in the summer.

YES! That is what I want! Our Target hasn't had them. :(

I can't tell the scale but dollar tree has several similar options.

We use a big mesh laundry bag that I got at Walmart. I also have one of those plastic things I sometimes use but it's not really wide enough for more than one bucket and the mesh bag fits everything. I also like it for the beach because it closes so I can dunk it in the ocean to rinse.

I went to Dollar Tree tonight and they had some options. Got a round one with a handle; we'll see tomorrow if the toys fit in it! Thanks for the recs! I might be back asking if anyone's seen a bigger one... ;)

I had one of these and the drawstring came out and the bag now has some holes in it but it is still holding my DC's pool toys. If I'm remembering correctly, it was $1.99.

We blew through a number of these, they kept breaking. Now we use those HUGE IKEA blue bags. When needed we just hose it all down and shake it out. It is a perfect size! Can even get big bull dozer Tonka in it.

If you are ok with a basket, I think that you could just find a laundry type of basket and drill some holes at the bottom. I bought a big basket of beach toys several yrs ago at target or one of the big drugstores that basically looks like a round laundry basket, but with a pail type of handle and a perforated lid. I see those every yr at the stores around here.
