I have a 2000 model with the Primo Nido bassinet and the Ganciomatic carriage attachment that my 2 1/2 loves for walks. We're expecting baby #2 in May and would like to get another chassis for the bassinet so we can go for family walks. I looked on pegs website and did see a chassis, but I don't know if these will fit. I e-mailed them over a week ago and of course haven't heard back. Any ideas on where else to look and about how expensive they are?? Thanks!

If it is a 2000 model it has the 2 knobs on either side to realease it, correct? You turn them to unlock and then are able to either adjust the seat (direction or height) or place the bassinet on. These chassis are no longer available according to Peg Perego. I have an Arianna on a classic chassis, and wanted to get one of the caravel chassises, but they don't work with the current G-matic attachment system (which has a plate the seat attaches to) although the manuals call the 2000 seats Ganciomatic. I was told that their definition of Ganciomatic changed. Basically when the released the carseat, they revamped the system of attachment.

I don't have knobs like that so it got me thinking as to what year it is and searched for the manual. It says the seat can be fitted on the caravel and classic Ganciomatic chassis!!! Yeah!!! I was thinking of getting a Peg carseat so this will work out well. Thanks for the websites and ebay info! I'll have to check it out!

Just a quick clarification, the knobs would be on the chassis. All the seat or bassinet would have would be the pegs (2 along the bottom rail on each side of the seat) on the side for where it would fit to the chassis. The following links might help you figure out the year. I dug up the email Peg had returned to me, and in it they stated that the 2000 models would not work with the current systems. Certainly it would not be the first time a CS department gave the wrong info though! If you find it does, maybe I'll go for a caravel frame afterall! That'd be fun having a plush carriage with a parent tray.

If it's a 2000 yr it is quite possible for it to be ganciomatic i too had one, very few tho that year offered it..basically it was a phase in for what was to come for 2001.
You'll be able to tell easily enough as the frame will have a plate and be closed off where the seat attaches.

Wow! This is confusing! I wish I knew the name and year- model. It definately does not have knobs on the chassis. There's a plate with a bar accross the middle that the seat or bassinet click onto. The seat and bassinet have a release lever on each side. I'm going downstairs to take pictures if anyone wants to e-mail me! [email protected]
There is a plate on the chassis with a bar running accross the middle where the seat or bassinet click on, so it sounds like ganciomatic. There is a manufacture sticker that is a little worn out on the chassis. It says "Classic Ganciomatic MFG 02 2000. Peg PL41 Argento." Do you know the name of your 2000 model? Does the seat and bassinet fit on the new classic chassis or caravel? The one on ebay looks great and so does the new Velo pneumatic classic chassis with the large treaded wheels.
I actually don't have her anymore :( but she was a coupee 2000yr in this dark/light bule plaid, as far as i know their should be no reason the bassinet/giro seat not fit the newer classic/velo or caravel frames, they have not changed the ganicomatic system that i am aware of.
If your concerned pop into a retailer with your seat/bassinet and try it on a 2003 or 2004 ;)
