Christmas wish list for 6 month old
I have really come to respect the opinions of all the ladies on this board. Our DD will be 6 months at Christmas and is the first grandchild on both sides. They are already asking for a Christmas wish list for her. What specifically should we ask for ($$$ is not an object)? I don't want their good intentions to buy a bunch of stuff that will just collect dust. DD loves her Baby Einstein playmat and we already have a good collection of books started. What toys might get her past the one year stage?
Thanks so much for your advice.
Megan

A wooden walker like the Radio Flyer or Haba. Costco has a nice one by Parents Magazine for about $45 right now. It comes with blocks http://tinyurl.com/gby5e
Costco also has the Playskool Busy Ball Popper which I asked MIL to get DD. My DS had this and LOVED it!
A push toy. We had the Step 2 buggy and it was a big hit. We will reuse ours for DD. DS is three and still plays with it.
A learning table like the Leapstart table?
Trucks like the Little Tikes Handle Haulers are loved by boys and girls.
DD will be 8 months and I already got her presents. I am giving her the Haba Fantasy Blocks and the Haba Wonder Dice. I also got a wooden teether and new pacifier clip from Haba to stick in her stocking.

I really wanted to get DD the Dragonstone Castle but I didn't want to spend too much money on her first Christmas since she is so little. I am going to ask my parents to get it for her. http://www.oompa.com/cgi-bin/item/HA0995

I wish that I had bought the Haba Big Voyage set sooner. DD loved it at 13 months (and still plays with it at 2 as cars and as a train) but I think she would also have loved the little characters before that as they rattle, crinkle and squeak. The whole set is incredibly well made - it might be my favorite toy that she has.

How about asking for them to pay for a class of some kind...
Gymboree, Little Gym, Music Together (our favorite).
You could ask for the Baby Einstein videos... (DS didn't get into them until a year and a half).
