Best way to freeze stuffed shells?
OK, I admit that I'm not a culinary genius, but I'm trying to learn! I'm making stuffed shells for Easter Dinner tomorrow and decided to double the recipe and freeze some. But I don't know what the best approach would be. Should I bake them and freeze them so that they can just be reheated, or should I just cook and stuff the shells and freeze them, baking them after they thaw? TIA!
RE: Best way to freeze stuffed shells?
Jessica,
I would cook and stuff the shells and then freeze them (before baking the dish). This is what I always do and it works well!
HTH! Stuffed shells sound yummy!
RE: Best way to freeze stuffed shells?
Yes- I freeze them before I bake them, but I don't freeze them in the baking dish. I put them on parchment (wax paper will do) on a cookie sheet to freeze, then transfer them to a freezer bag for storage. That way I can use them individually as needed.

Thanks! It will be nice to have a few fast meals in the freezer.
