Depending on the situation and the person, I've been known to say, "ooh, nice one." Or, "how'd that work out for ya?" Or, "better the second time?" I have no couth.

Nod my head to acknowledge. Haven't gotten DS to say it yet, but when he does, will be more verbal to encourage the behavior.

For adults, I do nothing. If it's my DD, I tell her "thank you", because I want to give her positive feedback when she's using her manners.

Good one! I voted nothing because after "excuse me" I wouldn't know what to say. I'll keep that one in mind.
