Default Janie and Jack New addiction (It's really addition) to Gymboree Corporation

The people at Gymboree are the devil. It's not like I don't already spend a ton of money at Gymboree, they have to go and open a new store called Janie and Jack to tempt me. I love, love, love this new store. They only have about 10 stores nationwide but are available online at:

Take a look at how cute.

Any will power/self control that I have at the Gymboree stores totally disappears once I step into this store. Everything is so darned cute (but not too cutesy). I ended up buying the entire boys soiree line that they have. This is my absolute favorite line of baby clothes. I think I will have to start a baby clothes addict anonymous thanks to them. Thankfully they are currently having a 50% off sale on several of their collections so I don't have to feel totally guilty. Please tell me that there are other mothers out there addicted to baby clothes. I think I could change Alexander twice a day and he would not have to wear the same thing for at least 3 weeks to a month.

Why have you done this to me? Why? Why? I was blissfully unaware of this cuteness, and now I'm going to have to buy things. :)

Oh those are so cute! Luckily I'm a SAHM and can't afford an $18 hat for Ds or else I'd be SO addicted, too!

Ooh, we have a couple of these stores in two of the malls near us and they are GORGEOUS! You cannot believe how incredibly soft the material is. I wanted to cry. Yeah, it's more expensive than Gymboree, but if you get their clothes, you will die at how wonderful they feel. It has been such a struggle to steer clear of that store, especially since DH likes the stuff too. But seriously, eat vs. clothes she doesn't really need? I'm a food freak, so there you go. But that doesn't stop the hint-dropping to grandma...

Gee, thanks Sandy! As if I need yet another reason to shop my hard-earned pennies away. And I love my little boy, but I must say that if he was a little girl, Shawn would have kicked me out by now. I used to work in a children's boutique and I have a trunk full of beautiful smocked dresses and such girly stuff. I'm sure I'll have nine boys because of it.

Oh, and Sarah, hint-dropping? HA! I blatantly asked my mother for a stroller for my birthday. Can you believe it? I've crossed that line between mildly (and controllably...is that even a word?) obsessed and certified off-my-rocker insane. You should have heard Shawn. He flipped! I wasn't entirely serious, but I wasn't all together joking either. :P

    Joanne,
You're killing me here. It is all so tempting. Did I mention we are on the verge of buying a house as soon as we find one? The condo is just getting way too crowded now that DS is here. DH is just going to have to kill me because I am may just have to get a couple of new outfits. I totally hear you on the stroller thing. I have a Pliko, a aria and I just bought a Inglesina Planet and DS doesn't even like strollers but I am seriously lusting after a Bertini sport, a bugaboo or the MAC 3. Wah!!! Why is everything so tempting.

AARGH! We are on serious austerity right now, but one can still daydream, no? And we are planning on buying a house also, but in the next few years. (Housing prices where I live start in the upper 3s for a shack on a quarter of an acre and a nice view of the dump and climb quickly higher...Another gripe. I think we need to relocate.)

I too am lusting after the Mac3 and Bugaboo, as well as the Quest. And I just CONVINCED DH that the Bertini we got a few weeks ago would absolutely be the final stroller. All I said I would need after this was a jogger and maybe a double if we had another baby soon.

Meanwhile, the M5 is still in my living room not being used (waiting for pieces that were missing) and he just about flipped when I told him I asked my mother for a stroller. But then, it is my birthday and it should be frivolous, right? And it's not even really FOR me, it's for the baby.

Alright, jojo, whatever you need to tell yourself. Oh, and of course all of the spring clothing catalogs are just piling up on the dining room table. And I missed spring/summer (the best!) last year because of my big ol' belly, so you bet I'm gonna go buckwild this year!

That's how it is where we are. We live in Bellevue WA and DH wants to buy a house in the neighborhood he grew up in and where his parents still live. A neighorhood that is absolutely great for kids but the fixer uppers start at over half a million. We are going to have to give up a lot of luxuries we now have because we live in a condo when we move to the house. We're just lucky that my in laws are absolutely amazing and have been so generous with gifts for the baby.
