Default How to dress for 65 degrees?

How do you dress your child for a sunny 65 degrees day? I know this seems ridiculous but I really don't know what is appropriate. We live in a climate where 65 is winter. My husband grew up in the cold, so he wears shorts and a short sleeve shirt with a l/s over it. I grew up here so I feel like it's coat weather.

So I guess 65 is fall for many of you, and was wondering how you dress your toddler on days like this?

When do you pull out a coat and/or gloves and hats?

    Thanks for your thoughts.

For a nice bright 65, long sleeves and long pants and thats it. If its breezy or overcast a light jacket.

Coats come out at sub40s. Above that is jackets.

I grew up in the midwest and have been living in a warm climate where high 50's/low 60's is winter weather for the last 6 years.

I agree with the PP that I dress DD in long pants and long sleeved shirts when sunny and 65, and add a sweater or light jacket when breezy or overcast.

I don't think I put her in a coat, hat, etc. until December/January when temps were in the lower 50's or so, and even then only with a lightweight coat/hat/mittens, with long sleeves and/or sweater underneath.

    HTH :-)

Same here -- long sleeved shirts and pants, no crocs (must wear socks), use a light jacket if early morning or late evening, use mittens/hat only if it's pony-riding day at preschool (meaning she'll be outside in the early AM for a good 30 minutes).

If it's 65 sunny and no wind, short sleeves and long pants. If it's windy, long sleeves.

Jackets or sweatshirts when it's below 50 or so, depends on the wind. Coats when the windchill goes below freezing. DS always wears a hat, usually a ball cap (he's sensitive to the sunlight), but I change it to a winter hat if it's below freezing. DS usually refuses mittens, so I only insist on them when we play in the snow.

I don't think you're a wuss. We currently live in Hawaii, and we'll be moving next summer to the midwest. I feel quite sure that we'll think it's WAY colder than it is to most people because we're so used to warm temps. I think it also depends on where you live. I mean, 65 degrees in Hawaii is cool, and we'd all wear jeans! 65 degrees in Alaska is summer weather. :)
