    Default store brand formula

Hi- We are switching to store brand formula (w/ doctors approval). We have been using Similas which we love just hate the price. We especially love the little travel packs. Do any of the store brands offer these packs? And any oppinions on the store brands? What is the best?
    Thanks- Daniella

All the store brands are manufactured by one company, Wyeth Labs. You can check out the website, http://www.storebrandformula.com.
So just shop around for the cheapest price. Just know that all formulas have different protein compositions and that not all formulas agree with all babies. I have seen store brand formulas in powder, ready to feed and concentrate, but not in the travel size RTF and the 4 oz "tubes" of powder formula like Similac and Enfamil have (I LOVE these for travel). Also, you can ask your ped for samples and they can probably give you quite a hefty supply of Similac if you like.

Thank you~ Will doctors give us samples even if we are already using Similac?

I guess it may depend on your ped. But most peds have a HUGE closet full of these samples that they get from the formula company reps who visit their offices. Mine will gladly send you away with a huge bag of various samples.

If you can't find the travel packs you could always buy a Powdered Formula Dispenser (I think they are around $3) or if that is too bulky for you, measure your own into small plastic bags. That's what I always did. Best of luck to you...
