    Default Build you own sandbox

How hard could it be I told DH? I found directions on Lowes website, but I really want something with a bench around it. Anyone have directions?

My first choice is still the Costco boat sandbox, but this is plan B right now.

Note, we don't have a collection of saws etc. I would buy the wood precut.

My husband just put our new sandbox together this morning. What he did was use the plastic lumber (instead of pressure treated lumber that contains arsenic unless you can find the special stuff) that we bought at Home Depot. We bought two 6" x 12' boards, had them cut them into 4' boards so they would fit in our car, and then a 6" x 6" square post that my DS cut to fil flush into the corners. We ended up with a 4'x4' sandbox with two leftover boards that DH put on two of the sides to cover up the open squares in the corner and be a bench. It's wonderful - I can't wait to fill it with sand.

If you need to see a picture, LMK and I'll try to get one up.

Did you see the previous post about the amazing sandbox Barabara husband made? I emailed her about it and he followed these plans.

    Default Link to Jack's sandbox

This is the link-My DH altered the family fun plans to make the sandbox about 8' x 10'. There are 3 sides of benches and the third side (not quite finished) will be 2 storage bins. HTH.
