Default Towel behind carseat - bad?

We got our new Britax Regent installed today - yeay! But it is so large that the thin rubber pad behind it (to protect the car's upholstery) doesn't quite cover the whole seat. So DH put a folded towel behind the top of the seat (top 6-12").

Is that bad? It keeps eating at me but I can't point to anything that explains why it would be unsafe.

If it doesn't change the installation (ie, it installs plenty tight with or without the towel), then it's ok.

The bigger issue is, did you install the seat according to the new advisories? http://www.britaxusa.net/support/doc...Update_Ltr.pdf
