    Default Joovy tandem stroller??

I saw this at a Baby Expo this weekend but didn't have much time to play around with it. It looked pretty cool. When almost never use a stroller with my DS anymore and he will be close to 3 when the new baby is born. We have a P3 but I liked that he could sit in this if he wanted too. The only thing I didn't like is that it doesn't recline all the way for an infant. I guess they just expect everyone to use a car seat. It says it can be used with toddlers up tp 40" tall and my DS is already 37". So it might not work out anyway.

    Any thoughts? http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...349209-1101655

I just registered for the caboose this weekend. I was also interested if anyone has one and what they think about it. My little girl will be 3 1/2 when the new baby comes. She still rides in her stroller if we are going to be doing a lot of walking. Any thoughts?

Is this one any smaller or more maneuverable than the old Sit N Stand?

Go check it out at Babies R US. I went & looked at it, and was so unimpressed with it. The recline mechanism looks like my stroller when I was a baby- just a metal bar that flips. Anyway, the recline is very slight, and you HAVE to use an infant carseat for a baby who can't sit up yet. Also, I know my babies outgrew the infant seat before they were comfortable sitting all the time, so for me the stroller would have been worthless for several months since it doesn't recline very much.

Also, the 'padding' is nearly nonexistant, not very comfortable at all imo. Honestly if you are looking for a bare bones stroller for an older baby/toddler & preschooler, this might work for you, but I think I'd rather a Graco double stroller for the same money. Much better padding, better recline, about the same size.

I agree with the PP, I saw it at Buy Buy Baby and was expecting much more. I have a Sit n Stand which I have found to be very useful..I have the model from this spring. Other than the Joovy has a 5 point harness in the seat, I like my SNS better! There is no padding in the Joovy front seat. They made it a little smaller than the Sit N Stand, but in this model when the seat is reclined the older child must stand...there's no room for them to sit. In the SNS model that I have, my dd can sit when the baby is reclined. I really thought I was going to have stroller envy when I saw it and I happily walked out with my SNS!

This is the exact information i have been looking for!! THANKYOU!!! I have looked and looked and looked some more for the **perfect* double since my baby was born. She's now 7months and i've tried so many things, and have now gone back to my Quattro Tour and my 31 mth old walks...not so good sometimes! Questions comparing the sit n stand to the Joovy (i've looked at the Joovy and agree with pp comments)
    1) where can you buy the SNS cheapest? is it available anywhere in store? I'd like to try it out first..
    2) can the older child ride in front? Just wondering as mine couldn't in the Joovy when i tested it in BRU. Her legs dragged on the wheels
    3) what makes it that the child can be reclined in fron and the child in back can still sit, is the rear seat naturally further away (than the Joovy) from the back of the front seat??

I'm torn...people either seem to love or hate these types of strollers!!!! I've had such bad luck, i'm so ready to go back to the Jeep sbs. Why are there so few doubles out there that are any good and that won't break the bank!..SO FRUSTRATING!!

Okay, I'll try answer as much as I can for you...

1- As for where to buy, I'm not sure...I got mine at BRU before they all sold out in the spring (my dd was born in April) and I think I got it a few weeks before she was born. One step Ahead has a version of the SNS...I'd double check with either them or Baby Trend to make sure that their model allows for the older kid to sit while the seat is reclined. Baby Trend made so many models over the years and some had room to sit others don't. Or you may want to do a search online and see if any other online retailers have them.

2- I'll have to see if my 4 year old can fit in the front...I think she probably could...it's like any other stroller, it has a footrest so her legs wouldn't dangle. I will try to remember to stick her in there tomorrow to see!

3- The SNS is a longer stroller than the Joovy. I was talking to the guy at Buy Buy Baby and I told him that I wasn't overly impressed with the Joovy and he said they wanted to make a more manueverable stroller that was lighter and not quite so long. But for me, I'd rather deal with the extra length and have my dd be able to sit while the baby reclined. The recline isn't great at all, but my 7 month old is okay in it now. It has more padding than the Joovy and it has these side wings, so she can tilt her head to the side and sleep.

What do you want to use the stroller for? If it's mostly indoor stuff, shopping, it will be fine...if you are going to use it a lot outside and on uneven terrain a double jogger would be better. For me, it really serves it's purpose...when we go shopping and my older dd gets tired, she loves to sit on the seat...it's so much easier than lifting and buckling her into a stroller. It's not the easiest to manuever but it's certainly no different than most tandems.

    Good luck!

aren't double joggers going to be difficult for shopping trips though? They just seem so enormous! Thanks for the tip about the seat. I emailed Onestepahead

Well, that's my question for you...what are you going to use this stroller for? If it's a lot of outside neighborhood walking, the SNS is not the ideal stroller, a jogger would be better...if it's for shopping, and more indoor use, it's worked out very well for me.

well i use my single for shopping trips and walks around the neighborhood/parks etc. i don't usually go on hiking trails or anything..is that what you mean? Though my Quattro Tour would probably handle it ok. I guess i'm just looking for a stroller that can do what my Quattro does, but with 2 kids! :) I emailed OSA and they said there is no room to sit when the seat in front is reclined :( guess i'll see who else carries it. Thanks for all your help!!
