Default Evenflo simple touch safety gate

Does anyone use this gate? It opens with a remote control!

    Really?
I am unsure if I should say wow or sheesh.. I have enough trouble 1. finding remote controls and 2. Keeping them out of my son's mouth.. I am not sure if I want yet another remote.. :-)

I think a foot release would be the easiest to use, as one is often holding the baby..but we went with the standard Kidco release for safety.

I believe the remote mounts on the wall above the gate--at adult height.

Yes. We have it mounted at the top of the stairs leading down to our garage. I figured it would be helpful to be able to open the gate by pushing a button, especially when you're carrying baby, groceries, and whatever else.

Installation was no more difficult than other hardware mounted gates. It does, however, require 3 or 4 "D" batteries (can't remember the exact number right now) and it seems to go through it pretty quickly (maybe it's just my perception).

Since I had the gate mounted before the baby actually started crawling, I can vouch for the fact that it is easy to remove when not in use.

Overall, we are very pleased with the gate.
