Catering with wait staff services

I was wondering if anyone knew of a reasonably priced caterer in the San Francisco bay area who doesn't require that you order food through their company. I have a family friend who is a professional chef, and he will be preparing the food for the wedding, but we still need a wait staff to run the reception hall. Anyone have any ideas???

How about hiring event staff through a staffing firm? I've never done that before but have been to a huge event where the caterer had to bring in extra staff through a temp agency.
