Default Heading out for a few days... (long)

Well, the doc has cleared me for one last trip before DS#2 arrives- we're leaving for Ohio and Michigan in the morning, and will be back on Sunday. We're headed to a wedding (DH is in it) that we've known about for 3 years now. One would think we would've planned a little better ;) Oh, well. There are no signs of my pregnancy really progressing- I was sent in for a 3 hour blood glucose test today b/c DS is measuring 2 1/2 weeks bigger than expected, and my fluid levels are elevated. We should get those results after we get back home.

Also, I think I mentioned in the past that my MIL and FIL were both diagnosed with cancer a month before DS#1 was born, and both had surgery just before he was born. They have regular check-ups and everything has been going well, but my MIL told us last night that she found a lump in her other breast and she'll be having a lumpectomy next week. At that time they'll test it to see if it's benign, and if not, will determine a course of action for treatment. I can't imagine the emotions they're feeling right now, but any prayers, thoughts, etc. sent their way would be greatly appreciated. Fortunately, they live in Houston now (were in CA during their last diagnoses/treatments), so I can hopefully be of more help (physically, emotionally, etc.) this time around since they're minutes, instead of a plane ride, away.

Thanks for being so great, you all. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Have a wonderful last trip as a threesome, Julie! I'm so sorry to hear that your MIL needs to have a lumpectomy. She'll be in my thoughts and prayers that everything will turn out benign. We'll miss you, hurry back!:)

    Julie,

Have a great trip. I hope you don't have an early arrival, but if you do, you can always buy one of those t-shirts that say, "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could!" I was the first in generations of my family born in another state, but we moved back to Texas when I was 2 weeks old, so I have always been amused by those!

And my thoughts and prayers are with your MIL. I hope the lumpectomy goes well and that the lump is benign. Your in-laws should get to be well to enjoy the upcoming arrival!

Have a wonderful (and safe) trip. I will be thinking of you!

My thoughts and prayers are also with your MIL. I'm sure it is a great comfort to her to have you close by if she needs you. Please keep us updated on her test.

Hurry back - I'll miss you!

Thanks for your kind words, everybody....

We're back from our trip-- and I'm SO jealous of those of you who are experiencing nice weather, because I almost didn't want to get on the plane to come back to temps in the 90s (after highs in the 50s in Michigan)! Anyway, I'm still pregnant, but am ready to have this baby any day now :) He's still measuring 2 1/2 weeks ahead of me, and I should find out on Tues. if I've got a late onset of gestational diabetes. Do you know, not ONE airline employee asked to see a doctor's note for me to fly? And I'm HUGE- and almost 36 weeks pg now.

My MIL's lumpectomy is scheduled for Tuesday...thanks for continuing to think of her.

I hope you all are having a great extended weekend ;)
