    Default Tax Credit Question

Does anyone know how the Federal tax credit will apply to those of us who had our first baby in 2003? Will we get the (up to) $400 credit as part of this year’s tax return. Do we have to do anything special when preparing our taxes to get the credit that most people with kids got last year?

    Thanks,

The tax credit applies in full as long as your child was born by December 31st, 2003. Just add in the appropriate credit on the forms. I don't think there's anything special. You also get another exemption.

You child does need to have a social security number though.

Thanks! The social security number is no problem, we have had that for a while now.
