    Default Another granite countertop question

    The other thread on granite countertops got me thinking...We are moving next weekend to a new house that has a granite countertop, and I'm not sure how to clean it? Do you just wipe it with a warm cloth when it gets dirty or is there some sort of cleaning product that is ok to use on it? I've only had formica in the past and sure don't want to do anything to harm or ruin the granite. I've been using 409 or other similar cleaners but don't want to take a chance on the expensive stuff! Also, are there any products that are a definite no-no for use on granite?

    I think the big thing with granite is that you have to seal it periodically. Otherwise, since it is a natural, porous stone, it is susceptible to liquids and stains leaching into the surface.
