RE: How would you pronounce "BRONWYN"
This is a funny one for me...
My vote is for Bron-wyn, with the "on" sound. As Bronwyn gets older, people are going to read her name and assume it's pronounced that way, and she will be spending a lot of time correcting them if you go with the -own sound. My name is not pronounced the way it is spelled (it's pay-tra, the Dutch pronunciation), and I've been explaining that to everyone and their brother since I hit kindergarten. I'm sure you've been through the same thing yourself.
Also, don't forget that the boys will eventually get the pronunciation right - I was called Fay-fa for years by a couple of kids I babysat for, and boy weren't they proud of themselves when they could get it right.
As for your friend, if you say "Bron-wyn" in front of her (to the baby, of course) often enough, she should eventually get it right, too :)
