Default What do you give a boy at the end of a performance?

My ds is at theatre camp this week and they will have on a show on Friday. I heard some Moms talking today about bringing flowers for their girls on Friday. I thought that was a nice idea but my ds would not be impressed with flowers. Any ideas?

What about a "bouquet" of Hotwheels or other little toys? Just attach them to chopsticks or something.

We always give flowers to our son at the end of musical performances. It is something we have done since he started violin in 3rd grade.

But then we have a tradition in our family of getting flowers for your birthday and other things whether you are a boy or a girl, so my son has never seen flowers as just a girl thing.

If you don't think he will like flowers, how about a cookie bouquet?

There are ones like this, where the cookies are shaped and frosted beautifully:

Or regular cookies wrapped in cellophane and presented as flowers:

Having had both, I would say the first ones have more of a WOW factor, but the regular cookies taste better. :) I think it would be a fun idea, but have him share that many cookies!! LOL

It's cookies on sticks, shaped like flowers and arranged in a bouquet.
This one says "you're a star", that would be appropriate.

Oh, I thought of something to add, after seeing Karen's link to other bouquets. I wanted to send something like this to the nurses at the hospital where I gave birth to Jonah. We were there a week with all types of complications and the nurses were just superb. They really went beyond their job description with us, and made what could have been a terrible week, into something almost fun.

Anyway, so many of the candy bouquets are expensive, especially when adding delivery fees, so I made them myself. I went to Sam's and bought some hershey bars, granola bars, reese's cups, a few other snacks, and I already had many vases at home. Got some of those wooden sticks and foam from the flower dept at the craft store, and attached the candy bars to the sticks. I decorated them with some ribbons and cellophane, and they were pretty cute, and much cheaper. We just delivered them ourselves so we could visit them again.

So you could do something like that, and really be able to personalize it. I made "wrappers" for some of the candy bars with messages and graphics on them. I always keep this idea in the back of my head to use later, it was much easier than I thought...and I was just a couple of weeks PP and was able to do it. LOL!

I'm sure your son will love the attention from anything you decide to give him, what fun!!
