Cindy, I'm not disagreeing with you, but I did want to respond under your post to say that I've felt all of the statements you listed at some point in my 2.5 yr parenting career. Yet I'm not depressed or in need of any medication. Again, I think your post is really helpful, just wanted to share that I don't think that any of the OP's feelings or actions are anything out of the ordinary. Parenting is *really* hard. I've looked back at some of the ways that I've handled my kids & I've sought out other tools & I've found some that really work. I'm not worried about the OP at all because she's recognizing that she made a mistake & is seeking help. I hope that you continue to be motivated to improve your parenting skills.

I'm sorry that you felt you needed to post this anonymously - you have nothing to be ashamed of, IMO.
