    Default Halloween costume help

I feel like SUCH a doofus for asking this question. DD is three. Halloween is coming up. I plan to take her trick-or-treating. However, I don't think she really has much of a concept of what Halloween is, and I've tried explaining the whole costume thing to her without much success. Is it weird that I'm probably going to dictate her Halloween costume choice this year? How do I either pick out a Halloween costume or help her choose?

Megan changes her mind every day about what she wants to be, so I say thank your lucky stars you get to be in charge for 1 more year, and have fun with it! As long as its something she's mildy interested in, I think that's fair (an animal or fairy perhaps). Let us know what you come up with!

I would think she'd have more of an opinion but hey, enjoy getting to choose for one more year. :)

I chose ds's costume last year-I tried to get him interested, but he wasn't really. In fact, he wasn't even crazy about wearing it last year (he was a lion). This year he's pretty excited and has chosen his own costume (Jedi).

Last year I went shopping without DS and bought two costumes (a pumpkin from Childrens Place and a dalmatian from Gymboree). We then showed DS at home and let him pick the one out that he wanted to wear. After a couple of weeks of consistently wanting to be the dalmatian, I returned the pumpkin. He would not even try the silly pumpkin on! I think giving him a choice prevented him from refusing to wear the costume once Halloween came.
