Default when did you deliver? and other q's...

I'm 40+w now, and just wondering when the big day will be!!

How many days before/after your due date did you deliver? If you had any assistance getting the delivery going, what methods did you use? (natural induction tricks? planned induction at hospital... etc...)

Did you have any pre-labor symptoms? Like, did you know before hand that the time was really coming? Or did it hit you like a ton of bricks?

I'm a vbac, so they most likely won't do pitocin unless my cervix is really ready... just had a membrane sweep yesterday, and I've been having a ton of bh contrax since Friday. If I go past 42w, and there's no big change in the cervix, my only option would be another c... OMG - definitely don't want that...

    thanks!!

I was at 40 days and three weeks. I had No pre-labor symptoms. I just started having mild contractions in the afternoon. By late evening they were much more regular and painful. I got to the hospital at 2am and six centimeters dilated, and dd2 was born at 5:01 am.
I didn;t have any pre-labor symptoms with dd1 either, but that is because I was induced three weeks early. She really wasn't ready to come out yet. ; )

    Sending you healthy labor vibes!!!!

According to Dr.'s dates DD was 9 days late and DS was 11 days late.

With DD I walked like a feind and tried every trick on the book. Walking the zoo helped get the contractions moving with DD but I still didn't have her until 2 days later. I took Black Kohash and Evening Primrose Oil supplements.

With DS I took EPO and Black Kohash again, and added Raspberry leaf tea. I had three days of 15 min or so mild contractions and then it hit me like a ton of bricks, he was born 6 hours later. :)

DS was born one day before his due date. I went into labor naturally, but stalled out and was given pitocin. He was born shortly thereafter with minimal pushing.

I was induced with DD at 38 1/2 weeks. And, FWIW, all they had to do was get the cervix going. My water broke and I delivered relatively quickly and didn't need pitocin at all.

But, if memory serves me right, I, Susan (muskiesusan), and Eri (aliceinwonderland) all shared a due date this last time. I delivered a week before Susan and almost 3 weeks before Eri. :) (I'm oldest. It's only fair that I got to go first!)

    Good luck.

I actually delivered a day before DS was due, which surprised me because I always thought he'd be late (first child, I tend to have long menstrual cycles, and both me & my sister were born late). I tried things like accupressure (just pressed some of the known "induction points" for a few minutes), walking, spicy foods, nothing too fancy as I still hadn't hit my due date, but was eager to get the pregnancy over with! The only pre-labor symptom I had was a lost mucous plug, but that happened a couple weeks before delivery, so my body was quiet for a while. I just woke up one morning with menstrual-like cramps, and by the afternoon, I knew it was the real thing.

Sending you plenty of labor vibes...
