    Default a little nervous

ok, so when there is a smallish lump in one breast, and that whole side is painful, its usually some kind of fibrous something or other, right ?? I am getting it checked out - had a screening mammogram 10 days ago, and then they called back and said that because I had indicated that I felt a lump, they should do a diagnostic one and an ultrasound, and I go on wednesday - and I didn't realize that I was nervous, but it is really pretty achey right now, and so of course I have been googling breast - lump - pain. (a great way to spend a saturday night, by the way). I have had two fibrosomething or others removed from the other side, but that was eons ago (like 15 years) so I don't remember if its the same thing. I told DH I was a little nervous, but also that it is probably nothing. So I don't know why I am even posting this, maybe just hoping for some good BBB mojo or something. And the fact that I am sick too is probably making me a little more worried, cause I feel generally lousy too. so I guess any good vibes or info or advice would be appreciated.

    Lynnie-

Two questions - are you still nursing and/or do you consume a lot of caffeine? Both could contribute to fiberous cysts.

Also, it could depend on where you are in your cycle.

Big hugs to you. Please keep us posted!

    Until then - STOP GOOGLING!

Lynnie I hope this is nothing too serious. Whatever you do quit searching stuff on the internet. Close those other web browser windows right now. Ha Ha! ;-) That will make you crazy with worry.

I'm sending you a special prayer tonight. For healing, strength, and rest. You probably won't find out the results for a few more days until then please just rest as much as possible. Big ((HUG)) hang in there hon! Please take care of yourself. I think taking Advil may help the achey feeling it's also an anti-inflamitory. Please eat well during the next few days too. If you like Thai food, go eat some Tom Yum Gai (spicy chicken soup). This soup is wonderful and healing. Well at least eat some chicken soup.

Sending you healing thoughts. And praying for good test results. ;-)

I am going through something very similar. Marisa's post is right on. My Dr told me the same thing basically. I go back in a few weeks. I am off the caffeine, took motrin for the inflamation and discomfort and the Dr wanted to see me after I had a period. He told me my breasts are very fibrous. Apparently my mother is the same.

    Anyway, hang in there.

No more googling! I had a lump than was sore that I was almost positive was nothing. I went to the doctor to have it checked out and she wanted to send me for diagnostic stuff. I'm sure you really don't care to know this, but evidently I have lumpy breasts. I've had diagnostic mammograms and sonograms before and everything was fine. Even still, knowing that I was going to get one b/c of a lump and breast pain, I was a little freaked out. It was nothing. Sending good vibes your way! And remember, no more googling.
