Default GRAB GIFT IDEAS FOR $25

Hi - I'm hitting a dead end with ideas for a holiday grab we do with friends, both male and female. Anybody have any great suggestions? I need 2 gifts (me & DH) - every year I say "thats a great idea got to remember if for next year" but I'm drawing blanks. TIA

    - Those vacuum sealers for wine bottles - they work really well.
    - $25 gift card to a bookstore, or a restaurant, or a music store
    - A nice set of mugs - I love the Christmas ones from Restoration Hardware
    - A silver keychain

I'd check out overstock.com. They have cute gifts, and shipping is never more than $2.95, so you don't have to buy a bunch of things to make the shipping worth it.

Have fun! I always recommend a grab bag with DH's family, because we usually pick a name and buy one gift for the person we pick, but no one ever goes for it.

*What about a smoothie blender (blender with a spout for easy serving)?
*How about a family boardgame (like the new Monopoly Here and NOw or cranium or the updated edition of Twister)?
*What about a house safety pack with a batterie-less radio and flashlight (you know the ones that have to be charged by hand?) and a really nice American Red Cross First Aid Kit (there are ones on sale at Target where a portion of the proceeds go to the American Red Cross).
*What about a radio/cooler plus one of those lawn blankets you can use on the grass for picnics?
*What about an interesting book about trivia like "Extraordinary Origins of Everyday Things" by Charles Panati?
*What about gift certificate/tickets to a showing at your local IMAX theater? or tickets to the local science/fine arts museum?

    Does that help?

popular gifts that people have 'fought' over at exchanges i've been to:

    - a really nice pen (like one of those astronaut pens or a sensa)
    - starbucks gift card in an insulated coffee mug
    - nice bottle of wine
    - head lamp flashlight (not quite sure why, but all of the guys fought over this one, one year) and then those wind up/don't need batteries 'emergency' flashlights you can get at costco the next year - same thing, all of the guys tried to 'steal' it.
    - manicure/pedicure gift certificate from a local chi-chi nail salon - you can guess who was fighting over this one...
    - this year, i am thinking of getting a pair of 'yak trax'. several of the catalog companies have them and they look kinda fun.

favorites at our family gift games are lotto tickets, a nice bottle of liquor (bailey's or tanqueray gin), and nice chocolates (frango mints or see's candy).

Oooh, great post. We have to buy two male and two female Yankee Swap gifts this year for $25. I haven't gotten anything yet so these ideas are really helpful. Here are a few I've been thinking about...
    for the guys:
    From L.L. Bean($19) Yaktrax

I'd maybe add some disposable footwarmers.

    for the girls:

From L.L. Bean(Med.size $24)-I have this and it's a good size for us

Wilton Ultimate Bake and Carry Set($30-I'd use one of the coupons to make the $ limit)From Bed Bath and Beyond

I think most movie theatres sell packages that include 2 movie tickets and popcorn/drinks. Not sure where you live but it might be under $25. LOL.

If you can spend a few bucks more, the game Blokus is always fun. We bought it for a DS of a friend and the DH pretty much took over the game b/c he liked it so much. It's for ages 5+ so the whole family can play together.
