Default "Command Adhesive Strips" to hang pictures?

Have you tried it? Does it work, look tacky, fall off, or leave marks? Thanks!

I love these things, have used them on painted woodwork many times and have had no problems (except they do snap your fingers when removing them so be careful). One time the adhesive did not come off correctly so I called 3M and they told me what to do and it ws easily fixed. I hve seen some of the hooks colored in silver or bronze for holiday and they look much nicer than the white ones. I just colored my white ones gold yesterday with a paint pen.

I've used them for things big and small, and they mostly work for small things. For larger, heavier framed posters, etc, they will eventually fall down. I even used two for one print and it eventually fell and broke the frame. So now I'll use them for framed items that are 8 x 10 or smaller. HTH!

I currently rent a house with lathe and plaster walls, so yes, I have tried and use them. A lot. My thread racks and other misc sewing items are hung on the sewing room wall using this system.

We use the ones that are designed for pictures and look like velcro. They work REALLY well!!

ETA: They are the ones on the left on this page:

Way back in my childhood we were using the 3M stickies/hooks to hang stuff up in base housing. They really did a great job. (As a side note, my AP Chemistry teacher in high school had his former job at 3M and said it was such a great company to work for).

Anyways, they don't seem to hold as much as they used to, so just make sure you're following the weight recommendations. I have the "bathroom" moisture-resistant ones to hang our loofah in the shower and a couple 3- and 5-lb limit ones in my closet for baseball caps, belts and scarves. The belts are pretty heavy (esp DH's), but they haven't slipped in a couple years, so all's good here.

We used them on painted dry wall. Took the dry wall paper right off.
