    Default Baby Clothes Quilt?

I'd like to have a small quilt/blanket made of some pieces of DS's newborn clothes. I'd like it to be small enough that he can use it as a blanket or "lovey" when he gets a little bigger. I think I'd like that silky material on the back and sides.

Anybody know where I can have something like this made? I can't even sew a button on, so that's not an option. Or if any of you talented mamas could do it, feel free to spam me - I have paypal waiting for this project.

    TIA!

The biggest mistake I made is the one that most of us make...I did not live in the moment enough. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less. - Anna Quindlen

There is someone on eBay who does this with receiving blankets - you could ask if they could do it with baby clothes. I don't have the name but I bet if you did a search for "handmade quilts" or something similar you'd find the right store.

Good luck! Sounds like a nice thing to have!

I just thought I might give you another option, maybe for later. Growing up my grandmother made all 5 of her grandchildren quilts with pieces of their clothing. Mine was a Dutch Doll quilt and each doll's dress and bonet are made out of a dress I wore as a child, it is a wonderful keepsake and I can still remember some of the dresses, my brother's was a Dutch Boy and the overalls were made out of his clothing. I still use it when we have company and need an extra blanket, it is a precious treasure. I am keeping really special outfits from both girls and will have this done for them b/c my mother is dead and poor MIL would never think of it...

This is something I hope to do for my kiddos. You can definitely look on eBay or etsy and search for "memory quilt." Prices vary quite a lot, but there are a lot of women who do this. I even saw something when I was googling memory quilt from an Oprah show where Martha Stewart was the guest -- she did little 4x4" squares from baby clothes in a simple pattern with a cool silky backing -- it looked great!
