Gift Ideas for Preschool Teachers

DS is in preschool 2 days/week and his teachers have been great.
Now that I've been a SAHM, I give them so much credit for being able to handle all the kids and the work that goes with the job.

Anyway, I'd love to get them gifts. Any holiday gift ideas you can share with me?

How many teachers are buying gifts for? If it is a bunch of teachers, maybe talk to the director and see if you cn bring them goodies for the holidays, then give each teacher an ornament?

Or maybe see if there is something the classroom needs and you can buy something like a toy that they have wanted or something like that?

and gift cards are always good, to B&N or for a night out to dinner or a movie?

as a former preschool teacher, anything from the parents/kids at the Holidays was always deeply appreciated. :)

I did a batch of homemade cookies in a nice tin w/ some hot cocoa or coffee samples (Target has sets that you can just break up as well as some Ghirardelli individual bags in their $1 section), and a $10 Barnes and Noble gift card in there. At the end of they year the class chipped in for gifts. I was sure to write a personal note to the 3 teachers to thank them for all their hard work.

There was just a big thread on this in the Lounge. The veteran teachers vetoed bath products and mugs. Big hits were movie themed packages, gift cards to stores, presents from the child, and restaurant gift certificates.

btw, I ended up having ds paint cute ornaments at the ceramic shop for both. Then for the lead teacher, I ordered a cute note pad w/her name on it.
