Default Does anyone know where a good discussion of PreK vs Kindergarten is

Trying to decide if we should repeat preschool year, Pre-K or put our 5 year old in kindergarten. Many of his friends from preschool are almost 9 months older and more advanced. But the preK class has a lot of much much younger kids rather than young 5 year olds his age.

Does anyone know where an educators site is or some website that discusses people's
    decisionmaking about pre-K vs K.

Our preschool preK teacher says that her daughter's best friend was younger and wanted to stay with her friends rather than do what teacher recommended of wait another year and she struggled through the whole way through elementary, always a bit behind and she teacher feels she would have flourished if she had had the extra year.

    Here's a website:

    http://ceep.crc.uiuc.edu/poptopics/redshirting.html

There have been a lot of discussions about this in the lounge and in the b*tching post. If you do a search for "kindergarten" I bet you'd find them.

    Good luck!
