hubby and i are looking to buy our future retirement home in Fla (one of these golf cart communities) wow - the impact fees will kill ya!! plus fees such as state of fla doctmentary stamps $973, utility company ciac 2,300.00 water conservation auth 700.00 water and wastewater fee of 50.00 underground electric fee 165.00 building permits 100.00. approx closing costs 5,671.00 plus CDD 2,000. these fees don't even include the banks closing fees. how can people retire with all this?? this is outrageous. i don't remember the book discussing all these fees. are these negotiable or not??? and of course to live in this community there are amentities fees and a bond to be paid (i don't know what that is yet) and on and on????? 2stepgal
