    Default vitamin D deficiency

    I just read an article in US News & World Report about vitamin D deficiency and how it is on the rise. It says that 5-15 minutes in the sun 2-3 times a week will supply all the vitamin D needed. Does anyone know if you are supposed to have direct sunlight or not? I thought babies weren't supposed to be in direct sunlight.

    Generally, they recommend vit. D supplementation for all breastfed infants, but I think you should ask your pediatrician what they think. Hope this helps.
