Default If you are disorganized as I am, here is a link to help!

I am living in CHAOS most of the time. DH and I are what happens when 2 procrastinators marry and have a baby. LOL. I like FLYLady and her system. I am actually in the middle of crisis cleaning and stumbled upon these tips. Thought they might be helpful to someone else.

Thanks for posting the link!!! I'm living in chaos most of the time as well, LOL :) FLYLady is new to me. When I was browsing her page, the amount of info is overwhelming (almost as overwhelming as the chores that need to be completed in this house)! How do you get started and how does this work? Is the daily email helpful? I'm afraid if I sign up and don't follow through, I will feel even out of control. Ok, time to do the dishes...

FLYLady is great because her thing is you can do anything in 15 minutes. It all starts with your kitchen sink. Make sure it is clean and shiny (and empty! even if it means dumping everything on the counter or in the dishwasher). I live with the timer and I constantly take breaks so I don't feel overwhelmed. I think what she has to say is good and it has certainly helped me. Give it a try. You need to start where you are at, even if that means just getting your sink to shine. :)

Well, I used to get the emails but found it to be way too much. I wouldn't look at them at all at work, and then on the days I was home I'd get flooded with all these things I was supposed to be doing--including going to bed from the night before :). I've just recently gone back to the website though and have been following the Zones, mainly to stay focused on one room at a time. Reading and following the 15-minute rules does seem to help me as well. BUT there's no way I'd turn that email back on.

Sigh. Sounds exactly like me and my DH!!! I've tried FlyLady and I failed. I just keep procrastinating about giving it another try...

I zoned - I think the emails would kill a WOHM. I'm about to restart ::sigh:: Works like a dream when you're FLYing though, and I'm no housekeeper.

Melissa, thanks for the tips about how to get started!

I'm still too "scared" to sign up for the daily email, but did spend time reading through the website. I printed out FLYlady's daily routine and tips about how to declutter your house. They're very helpful! I put on my nice t-shirt first thing in the morning (instead of old t-shirt), but have to go bare foot in the house instead of wearing shoes like FLYlady suggested. I'm doing my best to keep the sink shine and making sure that the house (downstairs) is organized before going to bed. So far it's been great and I have a sence of accomplishment. Baby steps, baby steps... :)

I've tried FLYlady before and failed. I did sign up for the daily emails and it just became one more source of clutter for me! Until recently, I kept telling myself that just as soon as (name the event, holiday, project) was done, I would get right on the system.

Maybe I'll try again without the emails. Something around here needs to change!

Ditto here, andrea. I'd be getting emails telling me to go to bed at 8 pm (west coast). LOL. I do need to try again, though.
