Thought I'd share these instructions I found for making Robeez-like shoes. I haven't tried it yet, but looks pretty simple.

UPDATE:

Well, finally got a chance to try this out. It was great fun, but took several hours. I can't say exactly how long, since it was not all at once. The hardest part was sewing the leather and getting the elastic tight. Everything else was fairly simple sewing.

I used denim lined with flannel for the uppers. Suede on the bottom - which I didn't line. The decoration is just a pre-made applique that I found in the clearance bin. Spent about $20 total, including the heavy duty needles and had enough to make two pairs of shoes and two Dipee & Wipee bags from the pattern posted here. For one pair, it probably would have been about $15, since the other pair only required 1/4 yd fabric, thread and applique (used the extra suede, flannel and elastic from the first pair).
