    Me, too. I also find myself aghast at what some educated, otherwise reasonable people think are good child-raising practices. And it just breaks my heart every single time I see it.

    On the other hand, I have to say I've seen some really stressed families who make their children about as happy and secure as kids can be. And that heals the breaks a bit.

    I couldn't agree more. Thank goodness there is an upside on occasion.
