Default Loads of laundry and Duggers

I was flipping channels the other night and saw a preview for that show about the Duggers and it said they did 200 loads of laundry per week.

That works out to a little over 10 loads of laundry per person per week. That seems like a lot to me. But maybe that is the norm for a family.

So . . .my question is how many loads of laundry do you do per week?

We use cloth diapers, napkins, kitchen rags etc. There are three of us and two dogs and I know we don't do 30 loads per week. I am going to keep track, but I would guess we do 7-10 loads per week. I do have an HE front loader, so I suppose I can fit more per load.

What is "normal" (if there is a such thing) for family laundry?

We do about 10 a week. This includes clothing, napkins, diapers for 5 people.

I think the article must exaggerate. 200 loads for 19 people?

We do MAYBE 5-6 loads for 3 people. And that is with NO paper towels, paper napkin use etc.

We are a family of 3 and everything we wear is washable (ie hubby does not dress up for work and use dry cleaning). We have a front loader and I would guess we do 5 or 6 per week. About one load per person, plus sheets, towels and random stuff.

We do about 5 loads a week for 5 people, no cloth diapers, napkins, etc. It helps that DS1 is in a school uniform so he rewears his shorts for 2 days on average. Also, now that we are in a warm climate, the clothes are smaller (more shorts and t-shirts, less jeans). DH sends a lot of his work clothes to the drycleaner, because I despise ironing and drycleaners here are crazy cheap!

Ha. Yes, I was thinking that we are transitioning from about 8-10 loads to 10-12 loads now that we're in pants again!

My count includes sheets and towels, too. Probably 2 loads a week are those things.

I also have an HE- top loader, though. I'm amazed at how much more I can fit in that my old, regular washer.

I'd saw we average about 5 loads/week for four people. That includes all our clothes/sheets/towels- no cloth napkins or diapers.

I have a really bad dust mite allergy, so I have to wash blankets/sheets/comforters/towels more than the average person, so that can add an extra load or two a week if I'm doing the big stuff.

    I do 15-17 loads a week for 3 people and 2 dogs

    3 loads on Wed,
    2-3 loads on Fri
    4-6 on Sat
    another 3-6 on Sun

my washer is old and small so I dont have the super capacity of the new loads.

plus we seperate whites, lights, darks, delicates, dog laundry ...

We do about 12 loads a week. I have a big top loader instead of the front loader (was a gift from IL's)
