I really liked these boots in the LL Bean Signature Plaid. It never dawned on me they would sell out, or I would have ordered them earlier. AHHHHHHH.

I have noticed this happens kind of frequently with LLBean. It is sooooo annoying.
Something sells out early in the season and they never get any more back in stock (I'm referring to online...don't know about B&M stores). Doesn't seem like good business practice to me.....Ashley

Not to totally defend them not having enough stock, but the boots are actually made in Maine and the workers are paid a fair wage. I think they do actually make as many as they can.

This TOTALLY happened to me this year too! I wanted these Comfort Mocs for DD#1, in the Black Current color. Who would've thought they'd sell out in September!?!
Cute shoes (sorry couldn't resist using my new found computer link talent. lol)
I called & complained to them because these shoes are supposed to be in stock ALL year. Maybe not the color but there are SO few girlie colors! I guess I shouldn't be surprised. You would think, though, that for the really "popular" items they'd make more. How hard is that?? I wish they'd at least consider it.~Kristine

That stinks. LL Bean seems to run out of shoes very often. I had a similar situation with some clogs a few yrs ago. They never did come back into stock. BTW, I'm glad that I am not the only one looking for wellie boots for myself. My feet got SOAKED on wed when it rained all day long. I was so jealous of my 3 yr old's welly boots (he has the cute garden series ones from target two seasons ago, the frog ones that have attenna). My problem is that I have seen welly boots at burlington coat factory, gabriel brothers and tj maxx, they are all super cute, BUT they do not fit my weird feet. I have wide feet and I can't seem to find any welly boots that fit. Plus, I have huge calves too and that is also another issue. I guess I was never meant to be a boot girl. I got the cutest brown sweater dress last yr that would have looked awesome with some long brown leather boots. I have yet to find any leather boots that will zip up over my freakish calves...

I bought some last year at JCrew. They have extended calf sizes.

Check out Woman Within (formally Lane Bryant catalog) and any of the sister companies (Roman's, Jessica Landon). Most plus size catalogs have extended calf boots and do come in smaller foot sizes.
