Default At what age could your DC wipe themselves and do it well?

DS is 4. He has been PT for about a year now. How long will I be wiping him when he goes #2? I'm just curious at what age children are able to do this well on their own? (ie: will I be sending him to kindergarten and know he will come home with stains b/c he can't wipe well enough?)

For T, honestly, almost age 5 or so. Though stains/rashes were avoided because we taught him to sit and finish rather than wiping a little early and making a mess, if that makes sense. Luckily for pre school as well, he was a 1x a day sort of kid and that was always at home just about.

It was a requirement for k that they do it themselves so a few weeks before k started we worked on it and he has been good to go. He was 5. Could he have done it sooner? I have no doubt. We just really didn't push the issue.

DS wants to do it. Problem is he still isn't very good at it. So I always double check him and he gets annoyed saying that he already did it. Is it better to just use TP or something more like a wipe?

Around age 5. I have heard other moms say it was like 3 or 4 and I cannot imagine my boys could have done a good job by then. My 5 year old now does not want to wipe himself so we're struggling with that. He thinks it's gross and worries he'll get it on his hand. They're all different, but before kindergarten is a good goal.

DS has never had a problem... since 4.5 or so...

DD1? Uh... I think she had issues till she was almost 8... (I helped her till she was 5 or so, I think, then stopped...just had to enforce a bath every night to make sure all was clean...tossed out a lot of panties that weren't worth salvaging...)

DD2... 3, no end to bum wiping in sight...

Default OT - between the legs or reach around the back?

DS does ok, but still needs a little help if things were soft.

My question - do little boys go in from the front (between the legs) or reach around their back? He wipes front to back but DH taught DS to reach around his back and wipe and I wonder if DS's arm is really long enough to do that and if that's the issue.
